Compression

The Savage is running perfectly with 150 main jet, white spacer removed, air cover off the air box with stock filter, and with 8 disks in the Supertrapp. Doesn't even 'burp' (nice gentle word) on shut down. However, with stock compression set up from the factory so low, the poor thing works harder than it should have to. SO... Has anyone milled (decked) a few thousands off the head? This mod should be very cheap, will bump up compression which will increase torque without any downside other than maybe needing a higher grade fuel than regular. Heather is really loving the Savage. The low seat and center of gravity gives her a high confidence factor at stops and pushing it around in the garage. She is even eying up Barbara's trick Savage and getting ideas of her own on customizing the 650. With the current mods, she has been able to run with group rides without much trouble.
